Neighborhood
Zakynthos is an island amazing in its beauty and number of attractions. In the northwest of the island of Zakynthos, far from the hustle and bustle between pine forests, olive groves and vineyards, the picturesque village of Volimes is lost. In its vicinity are the church of St. Paraskeva, the monasteries of St. Dionysius and St. Andrew. On the northernmost cape of the island, Skinari, there is a real miracle of nature - the amazing Blue Caves. The sun's rays penetrating them are reflected in the sea water and cause amazing silver-blue reflections. Numerous grottoes, snow-white stone arches growing directly from the sea foam, streams and mineral springs rich in calcium give the water a unique turquoise hue and make these caves healing. The largest cave on the island is the famous Azure Cave. Due to the low arches of the cave, you can only get inside by swimming. It is also worth visiting Navagio Bay and the town of Laganas, where the National Marine Park was created to protect rare relic turtles.
