Neighborhood
Volimes is one of the most attractive resorts of Zakynthos, essentially consisting of two mountain villages - Kato Volimes and Ano Volimes. Here, in the mountains, the houses are designed in the old style inherent in the island, the streets are still narrow, and Volimes itself attracts lovers of folk crafts, being in some way the center of folk art and craft. Ano Volimes is a real paradise for photographers. Here is the famous beach of Agios Nikolaos with its own port, from which ferries leave for the neighboring island of Kefalonia. Nearby are several other beaches with calm seas. In the town you can find many taverns, most of which specialize in traditional Greek cuisine. In the town of Volimes, the Venetian tower and ancient churches, decorated with frescoes of the 11th-14th centuries, the natural spas of Xigia, Gialos, Micronisi, the amazing Blue Caves and the most impressive attraction of Zakynthos - the Shipwreck Bay, have been preserved.
